The Moonah Arts Centre (MAC) has undergone an exciting new re-‐development to become a major resource for arts and cultural development within the City of Glenorchy. Owned and operated by Glenorchy City Council, MAC aims to enrich the local community by providing accessible and affordable arts and cultural experiences. The new, contemporary, state of the art facility promises to surprise and delight people of all ages.
‘Whether you’re mad about art, or know little about it, MAC provides the perfect place to meet, connect and engage in art at all levels.’
In 2015 the local community and local artists alike, are encouraged to take part in a wide range of visual art exhibitions, local workshops and screen events, live performances and quality creative experiences.
With a recent ‘once in a lifetime’ investment, MAC will continue to provide accessible, affordable arts and cultural experiences to the local community for decades to come.
Situated on Albert Road, MAC is a flexible multi-arts resource for the 21st Century. MAC is a warm, welcoming space for working artists and patrons alike. Designed by local architects Morrison Breytenbach, the remarkable new centre allows activity to be scaled up or down as required. Producers and patrons can enjoy outdoor courtyards, generous social spaces and purpose built art spaces.
‘Whether you’re looking to host a major visual art exhibition, an informal music event, or a school holiday aerial circus workshop – we cater for everyone.’
