East-West Quest presents a humorous recital about Marco Polo’s travels and experiences.

The music alternates with facts and anecdotes based on his book and historical findings. The lines between facts and fiction are blurred. The truth should never get in the way of a good story.

Allan Badalassi (piano), Roman Astra (Sitar, vocals, Indian violin, Chinese lute), Lynne Griffiths (harp, flutes, harmonium) are passionate about blending sounds and harmonies to create a unique musical language. Add Indian master percussionist Santhanam, and you get an ensemble that defies definition.

In this project you will hear lively and pensive Italian pieces, a Moorish dance and the music you might hear as you travel along the Silk Road. The sounds will take you all the way to the court of the Kublai Kahn and back again.

This is a concert not to be missed.
