Tue 18 & Wed 19 Apr, 10am – 3pm each day

Ages 7 – 15   Cost: $40 / two day workshop

Run away with the circus these school holidays!

Learn circus skills including manipulation (juggling, diablo, poi etc.), aerials (tissu), acro balance, slapstick and clowning in this 2 day workshop. Suitable for everyone, from absolute beginners through to experienced students.

Shine the spotlight on a place that many of us encounter every day – the Brooker Highway! Discover the true stories unearthed by the Story Island Project about life around the highway, then work with the team to come up with your own creative responses.

Fri 21 Apr, 10am – 3pm

Ages 6 – 12   Cost: $20 / workshop

Get creative and experiment with different materials and processes. Getting Abstract is a workshop which encourages children to be experimental and find freedom to be creative. Working with artist Kate Piekutowski, we will have fun with painting, printmaking, sculpture, drawing and wearable art in this fun, mixed media workshop. Think outside the box, challenge yourself and find your style!

blue splatScript to Screen – Guerrilla Filmmaking FULL

Wed 26, Thurs 27 & Fri 28 Apr, 10am – 3pm each day

Ages 9 – 14   Cost: $150 / three day workshop

Work as a team to produce and star in an original short film that will be broadcast on YouTube for the world to see!

Learn how to use the equipment, write and develop scripts for the screen, acting, pre-production and production tips from film professionals. Run by award-winning film director and community artist, Lucien Simon, this three day workshop will give you the fundamental skills to become a real guerrilla filmmaker!

Workshop participants will spend some time filming outside of the Arts Centre. Please bring a hat, sunscreen, snacks and comfy shoes.
