MAC Makers Workshop
WHAT IS THE STUDIO?
The Outlier Artist Studio gives space and time to artists to develop new work and create a platform to express themselves through chosen mediums.
The studio aims to empower new or emerging artists who are working outside the traditional art industry and establish a community collective.
The studio will focus on artist well-being by:
- Promoting self-determined art-making in gentle, supportive and therapeutic environments
- Builds sense of pride and esteem for artists
- Establish a platform for people to speak about their experiences in creative ways
- Provides an essential access point into the commercial and critical visual arts industry
- Build a sense of community to help galvanise an outlier artist collective.
WHO IS THE STUDIO FOR?
Firstly, we are looking for people who are already making art or can demonstrate a strong creative drive. Secondly, we are looking for people who have the time to make artwork across the proposed schedule. Thirdly, we are looking for people who, through any lived experience or circumstance, have been excluded from participating in mainstream/tertiary visual arts education. We strongly encourage people/artists from the following groups to apply/participate: > people who are palawa/pakana Or people who have a lived experience of:

The Moonah Bazaar is a vibrant, multicultural market that celebrates cultural diversity and connects stallholders from a wide range of migrant and refugee backgrounds to each other and the broader community. Running the first Saturday of every month, the market showcases food, traditional clothing, tea ceremony, massage, handcrafted items, art, beauty therapy, music and more, from a variety of diverse cultures.
