Event Details

Babies taken from their mother’s arms at birth. Fragmented, pre-memory imprints of confusion and loss. Abstract Truth is an exhibition of abstracted works that share the multilayered complexities and personal courage to reframe the deepest identity injury, the survival of child removal practices. These artworks were created through the Trauma Focused Art Therapy Group developed by Trauma Therapist, Angela Reeve, under the auspices of Relationships Australia and the Find and Connect Program. Through understanding neuroplasticity of the creative brain, by identifying trauma in the body, and by comprehending moral injury and the aching false beliefs it has engrained, these artworks were formed.
