Mini 2-session portraiture workshop

As part of our Anatomy for Artists workshop, we will be exploring the anatomy of portraiture. We are offering this aspect of our course as a mini workshop for those who missed out on the rest of Anatomy for Artists, or who would just like to focus in on the area of portraiture.

Human anatomy is infinitely complex and beautiful. Come and share the joys of anatomical exploration as we discover the parts that make up our structure, before tying them together as a functional whole. During this mini workshop, students will develop an understanding of the human head through study, observation and representation of the skull and muscles, and a session with a life model.

Anatomy for Artists

An anatomy course for anyone wanting to learn or improve their skills and understanding of the human body in art making.

The course will take a comprehensive approach to the muscular-skeletal structure of the body, its individual parts, its form and mechanical function as a whole. Students will gain understanding of the body through the study, observation and representation of the skeleton and muscular system, drawing/painting/sculpting of life models and exploration of movement in their own bodies.

Suitable for a range of levels from beginners to artists already working with the figure or portraiture.

Wednesdays 6:30 – 9pm, 6 Feb – 13 Mar (6 weeks)
