Artist Talk – Exploring Creative Process

with Caroline Amos, Luisa Romeo and Peter Maarseveen

Saturday 8 March, 11am-12pm

This is a free event, no bookings required.

Join us for an exciting artist talk with three of the artists behind our current exhibitions – Caroline Amos, Luisa Romeo and Peter Maarseveen. This event will focus on material practice, with each artist delving into the process behind making their work.

Caroline Amos has been a practicing artist and educator, for over thirty-five years. Her practice explores the complex layers of Tasmania’s landscape and colonial history. Through her work she seeks to encourage closer inspection of the colours, texture and contrasts of Tasmania’s unique and diverse landscape.

Luisa Romeo commenced her art career in traditional printmaking and extended into painting. Her current and ongoing body of work depicts the southern Tasmanian landscape. Her large scale works both in ink and oil show a movement and vibrancy of colour, capturing the essence and energy of the time and places they depict.

Peter Maarseveen is a photographic artist who primarily uses alternative analogue processes. He has been experimenting with making his own photographic chemicals from native plants to develop his photographs, and exploring how darkroom photography can be more eco-friendly.
