Collective Memories

Adele Auchterlonie

Friday 28 August – Saturday 19 September 2026

Exhibition Launch: 5:30pm, Thursday 27 August 2026

Collective Memories explores the experiences we hold onto, the emotions that connect us and the shared humanity found within our most personal memories.

Since late 2025, Adele Auchterlonie has been collecting anonymous stories across Tasmania, Australia, and overseas. Inviting people from diverse backgrounds and generations to share a memory they never wanted to forget. Translating the emotions behind the stories into symbols, colours and texture, rebuilding them in paint. Using her signature memory mapping process, Adele presents eleven paintings, transforming personal experiences into abstract visual narratives.

Adele Auchterlonie is a Nipaluna/Hobart-based artist whose practice explores memory, emotion and place. Through abstract painting and mixed media, she creates works that reflect the stories, relationships, and moments that shape our lives.
