Gradient Thoughts is a collection of illustrations depicting isolated subjects that have captured Harry’s fascination. Whether it be their form, texture or craftsmanship, Harry has a desire to evoke a sense of awe and curiosity from otherwise unremarkable paraphernalia.

Graphite as a medium offers control and precision alongside a delicate tonal range, allowing a sense of realism while representing items people tend to dissociate from their consciousness.

Harry Blizzard has been honing his drawing skills and deepening his familiarity with graphite for several years. Fascinated by antiques and unfamiliar scenarios, Harry’s work evokes nostalgia and often humour. Harry was the recipient of the University of Tasmania’s 2018 National Summer Art Scholarship and completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2021.
