Installed in MAC’s Avago window space, Jane McLoughlin’s exhibition Impermanence, is an invitation to reflect on the transitory and imperfect nature of life and the world around us.
The installation of photographic light boxes draws on the Japanese concept of wabi-sabi, meaning “impermanent, imperfect and incomplete”. Using techniques of long-exposure and panning, Jane highlights the qualities of light and its ability to give beauty to imperfection.
Impermanence offers a deep appreciation of beauty in our ever-changing environment.
