Event Details

Four years in the making, Inside Peace is a feature documentary that focuses on several compelling characters who were incarcerated at Dominguez State Jail in San Antonio, Texas. There, they embarked on a journey of change by enrolling in the Peace Class, one of the few self-improvement programs offered in prisons across the country that are not faith-based, but instead concentrates on the individual’s inner strength and self-worth.

Fri 12 Apr, 6.30pm, free
Moonah Arts Centre

Nibbles and light refreshment served at 6.30pm; film screened at 7.00pm followed by a Q & A session at 8.00pm with Dr Andrew Ramsay.

Join Dr. Andrew Ramsay and hear about the Peace Education Project (PEP) and the positive impact that the program is having in prisons.  Dr Ramsay facilitates PEP in the Adelaide Women’s Prison; he has stated that: “Many of the women in the prison have said that it has been a life changing experience. They find the program empowering, that it has provided them with motivation and hope for a better life. Their comments have also been supported by Prison Officers who have noted behavioural change including increased engagement in their other programs”.
