Free workshop for students in years 10, 11, 12 and tertiary level.
A process-based workshop pushing the limits of watercolour as an artistic medium with artist Penny Mason.
– Explore the alluvial character of watercolours, including how the influence gravity, temperature, pressure and vibrations can be utilised to suggest fragments and detail of landscape features.
– Learn about the techniques of washes, overlays, wicking, wet into wet and subtraction.
– Identify and exploit the “happy accident” as a starting point to invention and creative extension of knowledge and skills.
