Standing stones, mountains, obelisks, shards of light – these are our connection with the sky, with the heavens and with the ethereal world. Often on top of these connecting shapes, is a corona or crown of energy, symbolising enlightenment, a boundary between the profane and the sublime – or more mundanely, a paddock fence or aerial. These paintings represent life, all life, not just human, not just animate or visible, but that of animal, plant and stone. The spheres circling mysteriously above us in space, space itself, this whole conglomerate of wonder and joy that is our life. In the end, we are all luminous.
