Event Details

Cheryl Rose is a Pataway/Burnie-based artist and descendant of the Plangermaireener/Trawoolooway people from the Cape Portland area on the East Coast of Lutruwita.
Inspired by coastal lands and sea, Lutruwita Coastline acknowledges the past and present. Honouring her people and the Country on which they walked, cared for, gathered, and suffered. The lands we continue to walk on and care for today and always.
Working with layered Japanese Kozo paper, Cheryl overlays hand rendered, etched, frottaged, and printed images reflecting the intricacies of the coastline she calls home.

Lutruwita Coastline concentrates on the area of Fossil Bluff, Wynyard where sweeping lands meet the sea. Its rich volcanic rock forms, fossilised materiality and spiritual presence of Cheryl’s ancestors informs this body of work.

Cheryl invites you to share her place through this visual exploration.
