Opening 6pm Thurs 26 Jul
Exhibition runs Fri 27 Jul – Sat 29 Sep
Open Tuesday – Friday 10am – 5pm, Saturday 11am – 3pm
In the Albert Hallway
Death is ugly but birds die pretty, relatively speaking.
Birds are life’s true rock stars – they live fast, die young and leave a beautiful corpse. Even when that body has been severely mangled, there is something quite obviously beautiful in the remains.
Peter Angus Robinson documents the beauty of these remains, taking care not to disturb any element of his discovery. Each photograph is encased in its own, individual, self-contained light box. The Audience is encouraged to carefully pick up and operate the light boxes.
This exhibition will evolve over time, with more artworks being added over the course of the show. Make sure you come back over the 2 months to see all the works.
CONVERSATIONS WITH THE ARTIST: 1pm, Sat 29 September
Join Peter for Conversations with the Artist from 1pm on Saturday 29 September. This is a free, casual event where you can meet an artist currently exhibiting at MAC and hear more about the stories and inspirations behind their exhibition “Nature’s Rock Stars”.
