Event Details

The Mosaic Festival of Arts is a new multi-artform project by artists living with a disability from Mosaic Support Services. The festival celebrates the vitality that people with a disability contribute to the creative, social and cultural development of our community.

“Lend your ears to music, open your eyes to painting, and… stop thinking! Just ask yourself whether the work has enabled you to ‘walk about’ into a hitherto unknown world. If the answer is yes, what more do you want?” – Wassily Kandinsky

Not Knowing. Accepting Ambiguity is an exhibition of artworks exploring the human form. These representations of the human body have been created by artists whose bodies and perceptions of the world do not necessarily align with the norm.

The works are ambiguous in their portrayal of our most primal qualities. They ask the viewer to accept them; not knowing whether they are visceral representations filled with desire, or joy and childlike playfulness.

The exhibition includes collaborative and individual works in photography, ceramics, painting, sculpture and multimedia.
