Event Details

Workshop participants will be invigorated and inspired through game play, task building and will discover new processes for devising physical theatre and telling stories.

At the intersection of circus, theatre and dance, physical theatre is an exciting medium for cross art form expression and exploration. The workshop will provide easy start points for play building for performance and will be a fun, challenging and expressive experience for all levels of performers and curious bodies. Through solo practice, duet work, movement and momentum, performers, choreographers and directors will gain access to simple strategies and game play to begin to build material for the stage and performance.

Kirk has led classes for Legs on the Wall, Circus Oz, NIDA, ATYP and has worked as a movement consultant and performer on screen and stage for over 20 years with companies such as Bangarra, Opera Australia, STC, QTC, Bell Shakespeare and Belvoir. His performance in Redfern Now (S2) earned him a Silver Logie Nomination. He brings a rich history of experience and knowledge to his teaching and has a vibrant and enthusiastic approach to creating and delivering workshops.
