Join Vonni P, artist Trish Verdouw’s sister, for these special poetry reading events in The Memory Room exhibition.

The Memory Room was inspired by Trish’s mother’s journey with dementia.

Dementia is like a ‘long goodbye’ where the body remains but the person you once knew gradually fades away. Where yesterday is tomorrow is today. Where memories became disjointed and thoughts fragmented. In each moment past and present meld into a single reality.

This exhibition is a collection of works using mixed media and installation. It incorporates poetry by the artist’s sister Yvonne, capturing the many layers and complexities of the dementia journey.

Trish Verdouw is a contemporary artist who uses printmaking, drawing and installation. Her art practice explores the vulnerability and fragility of human life and the connectedness and balance of place.

Entry to the galleries is free.
