Celebrate Harmony Week at Moonah Arts Centre with Portrait of a Community.
In the lead up to the Moonah Taste of the World Festival (Sun 25 Mar), join us for a week of activities celebrating the contribution of the many cultures that call our community home.
Workshops
SAT 10 MAR, 11:30pm – 1pm:
Indian Dance workshop with the DancingDivas
All ages, free entry.
Dancing Divas is an Indian fusion dance group, teaching Indian dance forms including folk dance, Bollywood style dance and Indian classical dance!

SAT 17 MAR, 1pm – 2:30pm:
Drumming workshop with Taiko Drum.
All ages, free entry.
Taiko Drum is a powerfully dynamic style of percussion with stylised actions and synchronised movements, involving the whole body in the musical performance. Encapsulating the spirit of ceremonies and festivals of ancient Japan, Taiko Drum has developed into a contemporary performance art. Enjoy the power, variety in rhythm, and movement whilst learning this art form in a traditional style!

Featuring Tasmania’s foremost Afghan musicians Paywand, with guest artists from Melbourne. Come and experience the joy of Afghan Persian community celebration.
