QTas Choir will perform new repertoire in a concert of wellbeing themed songs about LGBTIQ lived experience.

This performance is the outcome of a project to foster the professional development of composers and songwriters, as they had the opportunity to learn choral composition skills through a scholarship program. Songwriting is a very powerful way to express and share both difficult as well as uplifting experiences. The new songs speak to the themes of resilience, gratitude, safety and hope and this is important at a time when the struggle for LGBTIQ people to have equal standing in the Australian community goes on.

The project received support from the City of Hobart and Tasmanian Regional Arts.
