SONIC DOUBLE asks how we can deal with loss; personal and with regards to the ongoing loss of biodiversity. SONIC DOUBLE brings together the Irish tradition of sharing cultural and familial histories through song, with science/art providing shape to the echoes of tiny underwater organisms.

Maria Blackwell uses found vocal recordings from a deceased family member and adds the resolved vibration of harmony. Processing grief through collaboration and creating a living connection to the remnants of memory.

Claudine Arendt takes scientifically determined acoustic echoes of marine species, processed through a porcelain cast, rendering tangible the invisible world of marine zooplankton.
