Event Details

The Angels emerge from mosaic and encaustic practices and are the result of a unique collaboration between the two artists, Sue Leitch and Noula Diamantopoulos. Each angel is unique, created through an interactive process, driven by the materials and the artists’ response to them.
About the artists

Sue Leitch has worked in mosaics for over 20 years and materiality is one of her key interests. Her practice includes exhibiting and teaching and she holds regular workshops teaching mosaic principles. These are informed by study tours in Italy. She has a health and social policy career background, and this often frames her artistic subject matter. She holds a Diploma of Fine Arts (2023) and is currently studying a Bachelor of Fine Arts at University of Tasmania. Her current area of focus with her studies is painting and printmaking, with exploring materiality, colour and texture a priority.

Noula Diamantopoulos is a clinical psychotherapist, multi media artist and author.. Noula’s love of mosaics began in 1998, creating mosaic murals both for public and private settings. In 2002 she founded the Mosaic Association of Australia and NZ and was the president for 20 years. Noula developed Encaustic Mosaics and in 2016 was featured in Colour Your Life, a video that showcased her method. There is an overlap between Noula’s love of the expressive arts and psychotherapy. They are intricately intertwined, and many times take people on a journey – to reflect on the unknown parts of us.
