Opening 6pm Thurs 19 Oct
Exhibition runs Fri 20 Oct – Sat 11 Nov
Deborah Combes, Violet Lipscombe and Patricia Martin invite you on a journey to the Egg Islands, a protected reserve located midstream in the Huon River, adjacent to the town of Franklin. The works of these artists celebrate the ethereal and diverse qualities of this special place.
Inspired by the varying moods of the islands and their changing surface textures; the play of light over land and water, the stillness of reflections and glimpses of the animals that call the islands home, the artists have pushed and expanded the boundaries within each of their chosen mediums. These new art works allow you to experience the island reserves through fresh eyes.
Sweep over the islands with Deb’s aerial over-views; immerse yourself into the detailed textures of the islands’ unique habitats with Vi’s complex abstractions, and, through Patricia’s naturalistic renderings, awaken to the islands’ flora and fauna.
